About Aero Defense Welding

More Than Just Welding

Aero Defense Welding LLC was founded on a straightforward principle: demanding customers deserve a fabrication partner who understands their requirements and takes personal responsibility for the details.

Our specialty is not high-volume manufacturing.

Instead, we focus on custom fabrication, specialized welding, and low-volume projects that benefit from direct technical involvement, careful planning, and responsive communication.

We recognize that manufacturing success requires more than a properly welded assembly. Material requirements, welding qualifications, inspection methods, documentation, downstream processing, and customer-specific requirements must all work together.

Our goal is to recognize those considerations early, ask the right questions, and help customers avoid unnecessary delays.

Our Approach

Low Volume by Design

ADW is not structured to compete with high-throughput production fabrication shops.

Light production may be accepted depending on complexity, quantity, physical size, required processes, and current shop capacity.

However, our primary focus is on projects that benefit from individual attention.

Maintaining a limited number of active orders gives us the flexibility to prioritize demanding work, respond to changing requirements, and coordinate with outside processing suppliers when needed.

Active projects are reviewed by the founder, with customer updates provided as appropriate throughout the manufacturing process.

The Experience Behind ADW

Engineering Knowledge. Hands-on Experience

ADW's founder brings more than 15 years of quality engineering experience in the aerospace and defense industry, including work with U.S. Government prime contractors and their sub-tier suppliers.

This background includes manufacturing process controls, supplier quality, customer specifications, qualification activities, and the importance of identifying potential problems before they affect the finished product.

Technical experience also includes:

  • Mechanical engineering studies at the University of Cincinnati.
  • Welding engineering studies at The Ohio State University, with a focus on metallurgy.
  • Hands-on production welding experience with GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and dual-shield FCAW.
  • Experience qualifying welding procedures to AWS specifications, including AWS D17.1.
  • Practical experience in fabrication, welding repairs, and manufacturing problem-solving.

This combination allows ADW to approach projects from both a manufacturing and quality engineering perspective.

We don't just ask how to manufacture your part. We ask what it takes to deliver a result that satisfies your complete requirements.

ADW. Quality.

Quality Built Into The Process.

Quality management is central to ADW's long-term mission.

We are actively developing, documenting, and improving our internal processes to support increasingly demanding customer requirements.

ADW uses two internal job classifications:

Contract-Requirement Projects

Projects involving defined customer specifications, inspection criteria, documentation requirements, or other contractual quality obligations. Applicable requirements and necessary controls are reviewed before work is accepted.

General Fabrication Projects

Projects without additional formal customer quality requirements. These jobs allow us to evaluate and continually improve our planning, production, inspection, and documentation processes.

ADW is not currently third-party certified to ISO 9001 or AS9100. Applicable qualifications, technical capabilities, and contractual compliance requirements are evaluated before accepting work.

Our objective is straightforward: build a reliable, disciplined manufacturing operation through practical experience, documented execution, and continual improvement.

We believe a capable quality system should be demonstrated through results—not simply claimed.

OUR COMMITMENT

More Than a Supplier. A Partner.

We want to be more than another name on your approved supplier list.

We want to understand your project, communicate clearly, anticipate problems, and deliver workmanship that reflects the trust you've placed in us.

When you choose ADW, expect a partner who will be part of your team to help accomplish your mission and goals.
